On November 1st, the "Salon des Formations" was organized, as every year, by the Lycée Français de Shanghai. For this 9th edition, the fair was not held at the Lycée but at the Primus Hotel in Hongqiao, due to the health situation. More than 45 schools were represented to welcome the 225 students present and for the first time, the ParisTech Alumni were present.
Giving high school students a taste of the professional world is what the ParisTech China Alumni came to do on November 1, during the fair organized by the guidance counseling department of the Lycée Français de Shanghai.
Approximately 225 students from the last year of middle schools to the last year of high school attended this fair, with their parents, which brought together more than 45 French and international higher education institutions.
Created in 2012 and usually held on the school's campus, this year the forum was held at the Primus Hotel in Hongqiao. Pandemic obliges. This day was an opportunity for the high school students, who came in large numbers, to discover or rediscover French engineering education and its “grandes écoles”.
Our alumni, grouped together and present for the first time for this event, were able to receive the students at a ParisTech stand specially set up for them.
There were many questions about the diversity of subjects taught in our schools, the admission, and the selection process. And then, of course, there are the professions, about which future students always have many questions. This was a great opportunity for ParisTech alumni to go back in time and share their memories of school and their beginnings in professional life.
These exchanges were an opportunity for future students to discover the diversity of our alumni's career paths, whether they are heads of subsidiaries of large French groups in China, entrepreneurs, in R&D or even innovation directors.
This day ended with a cocktail party to which all the speakers were invited, and which allowed our Alumni to continue to exchange and develop their professional projects.
