Double degree opportunities in France

Double degrees in France

ParisTech schools have developed since years double degrees within their network as well as with other French higher education institutions

Thanks to these double degrees the students in engineering have the opportunity:

  • Develop additional skills to those acquired during their studies in engineering,
  • Open to transdisciplinarity at national and international level.

This responds to the versatility and transversality needs expressed by companies. A candidate with a double degree will have doubled their operational skills. But the student will also have more open-minded, will be able to integrate more easily in the company, will be familiar with cross-functional issues and will have a greater maturity.

Over the past five years, between 2013 and 2018, 95 students have benefited from this exchange opportunities within the ParisTech network: 25 engineers, 50 double-degree engineers, 14 master's students and 6 PhD candidates.

Double degrees between ParisTech schools are following:

ParisTech schools have also created double degrees with French grandes écoles outside ParisTech. These include:

  • CNAM : Arts et Métiers (double degree with Master Prospective, Innovation, Disruption - MIES P3 Centre Michel Serres (M2) mention : Innovation, Entreprise et Société).
  • HEC Paris (engineer & manager) : AgroParisTech, École des Ponts ParisTech, ESPCI Paris - PSL, Institut d’Optique, Mines Paris - PSL ;
  • ESSEC : ESPCI Paris - PSL ;
  • École normale supérieure : AgroParisTech ; ESPCI Paris - PSL ;
  • École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay : Chimie ParisTech- PSL ; ESPCI Paris - PSL, Institut d'Optique ;
  • École normale supérieure Lyon : ESPCI Paris - PSL ;
  • ENSAE Paris : AgroParisTech ;

Double degrees were also created with universities, particularly within the universities the ParisTech schools belong to (PSL, Université Paris-Saclay, HESAM, Paris-Est Sup):

  • Institut de formation supérieure biomédicale (IFSBM) with the Faculty of medicine at University Paris-Saclay: Institut d’Optique;
  • Faculty of Pharmacy at University Paris Cité : Chimie ParisTech - PSL ;
  • Institut pratique du journalisme Paris-Dauphine : Chimie ParisTech - PSL ;

Last but not least, ParisTech schools have develop together a network of international partners, particularly in the emerging countries, and therefore double degrees with them.
