Europe

ParisTech had very early the ambition to set up the French engineering schools in the European Higher Education Area. That’s why ParisTech schools has quickly launched projects to establish a European network. ParisTech was therefore one of the first members of the European association of S&T universities CESAER.

ParisTech was since 1997 part of the European Higher Education Area by leading the ATHENS networkParisTech had hereby the ambition to develop the student mobility throughout Europe. This network was a good opportunity for ParisTech schools to develop privileged partnerships with the most prestigious European S&T universities.

After 20 years, ParisTech continues this network with the IDEAL project dedicated to PhD candidates’ training and even more through the European universities:

  • Chimie ParisTech – PSL, Mines Paris – PSL on behalf of University Paris Sciences et Lettres and Ecole des Ponts ParisTech have initiated the European universitiy EELISA particularly by mobilising the ATHENS network;
  • AgroParisTech and Institut d’Optique are members of the European university EUGLOH leaded by Paris-Saclay.

AgroParisTech is also member of the strategic alliance EBU (European Bioeconomy University) that gathers European agricultural universities.

These projects are achieved thanks to Erasmus+ fundings.

ParisTech is moreover one of the first active membres of CESAER, the European association of S&T universities. ParisTech exchange best practices with European partners and participates also in lobbying actions towards the European institutions.

Since 2021, ParisTech is partner of the Pan-European Seal Program of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Office for Intellectual Property (EUIPO). The students have therefore the opportunity to have an international experience, to better know international and European institutions and to gain complementary skills on intellectual property.

ParisTech's schools also develop cooperation with Russian universities and admit each year Russian students preparing a double degree in engineering.
