ATHENS: 250 European students in Paris

ATHENS week, November 2023

Around 250 students from all over Europe gathered in Paris on Saturday November 18 to launch ATHENS Week in the capital, while 320 joined other European partner universities, making a total of 2070 participants in this year's November ATHENS Week.

Alma Catala, Director of International Relations at Mines Paris, who is responsible for the overall coordination of the European ATHENS network, welcomed around 250 European students to the school's brand-new amphitheatre on Saturday afternoon, November 18. Florence Lelait, General Delegate of ParisTech, presented the network and mobility opportunities in Paris outside ATHENS Week (double degree, exchange semester, ParisTech International Admission Program). Hugo Pavy, a student at Mines Paris, rounded off the information session with a presentation of the activities offered by the students.

Arriving from all over Europe, the students were able to discover the program that awaited them during the week:

These were all opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with European students from Bucharest (Universita Politehnica of Bucharest), Budapest (Budapest University of Technology and Economics ), Delft (Delft University of Technology), Istanbul (Istanbul Technical University), Lisbon (Instituto superio Técnico), Leuven (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and Université Catholique de Louvain), Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Milan (Politecnico di Milano), Munich (Technische Universität München), Prague (Czech Technical University in Prague ), Thessaloniki (Artistotle University of Thessaloniki ), Trondheim (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Warsaw (Warsaw University of Technology), Vienna (Technische Universität Wien). After this information session, the students were able to meet and exchange ideas over a French-style afternoon snack on the school's premises.

Now it's off to a week of classes in an international environment, a good opportunity to experience engineering studies in the French way, to meet companies for some... and to rub shoulders with 881 fellow French students from the various schools in the ParisTech network.
