An overview on USTC's International Winter Camp of 2024

This program from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) invites you to embark on a memorable learning journey, complete with a variety of activities:

• Basic Chinese courses;
• Expert lectures on a wide range of subjects, including science, technology and culture;
• Cultural site visits in and around Hefei city.

The International Winter Camp takes place from 2^nd, January 2024 to 10^th, January 2024.  

USTC: a university with exceptional achievements in research & development

USTC is a prestigious university both in China and worldwide. In the world university rankings for 2024, USTC is ranked 64^th in the Shanghai ranking, 93^rd in the QS World University Ranking and 87^th in the THE ranking. USTC owns the most national labs and large-scale scientific facilities. It represents the highest level of China in fields of combustion, particle detection and electronics, brain-inspired intelligence technology, and speech processing.

Hefei city: a growing city, experiencing a dramatic economic growth over the past decade

USTC is established in the city of Hefei. Hefei is the capital city of Anhui Province, in China's central region. It is located about 3 hours by train, northwest of Shanghai. In the past 20 years, Hefei has increased its GDP by over 2,600%, becoming the country’s 20th richest city in 2020.

Full Program Fee and scholarships

The full cost of the program is around 2000 CNY (approximately 260 EUR). This fee covers tuition, accommodation (in a twin room), and field trips. Please note that insurance and travel expenses are not included.

In order to cover the fee of the program, USTC offers a limited number of USTC Fellowships Scholarship Opportunities to outstanding students. All applicants will be considered for scholarships, with varying levels of support:

• 1st level: Tuition waiver, medical insurance, free accommodation, travel subsidy, stipend.
• 2d level: Tuition waiver, medical insurance, travel subsidy, stipend.
• 3rd level: Tuition waiver, medical insurance, travel subsidy.

Eligibility to the program

To be eligible for the USTC International Winter Camp 2024, applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport, in good mental and physical health.
• Proficiency in English.
• Completed an undergraduate or graduate program and wish to further their learning at USTC (current undergraduate or master's student).

To apply, contact the Office of International Relations of your school before the deadline of November 17th, 2023, the consolidated list of interested students must then be sent by ParisTech to USTC by November 30^th, 2023 at the latest.
